Sheng (Rick) Cao graduated with honors from the University of Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance. In that time, he was awarded the Song Ching Ling Scholarship. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, Sheng spent several years working as a Macro Trader at BNP Paribas and as a Delta One Prop Trader at Segantii Capital Management, before joining Deutsche Bank as an Equity Strategist. He intends to pursue a career in algorithmic trading or quantamental investing using machine learning. In his free time, Sheng enjoys playing tennis and studying history.

Danqi (Amy) Chang holds two bachelor’s degrees from Peking University, one in Economics, and the other in Material Chemistry with honors. During her undergraduate career, Danqi was a Merit Student and was awarded two prestigious scholarships, along with a Gold Medal in the Chinese Chemistry Olympiad. Her experiences as a research intern at Ping An Bank, and as a quant analyst Intern at China Quant Asset Management Co., Ltd will assist her as she moves towards her intended career within quantitative research and portfolio management. In her free time, Danqi enjoys traveling new places and watching movies.

Bell Chen was a Baruch College Dean’s Scholar majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Economics during his undergraduate career. He was awarded first place at the Rotman International Trading Competition, Traders@MIT competition, and the UChicago Algo Trading competition. Bell worked as a trading intern at Société Générale, Wolverine Trading, and Pearl River Capital Quantitative Trading. He intends to become a quantitative trader at a quantitative hedge fund, and in his free time, Bell enjoys biking and playing poker.

Xindi (Cindy) Chen Xindi (Cindy) Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, with a specialist in Accounting and a major in Economics, from the University of Toronto, where she also received her master’s degree in Management and Professional Accounting. She was a highly distinguished student, and was awarded a MMPA Entrance Scholarship, and first place at the University of Toronto MMPA Integrative Case Competition. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, Xindi served as a financial analyst at Metrolinx, as well as an intern at IQVIA and KPMG. She is interested in pursuing a career in portfolio management or as a desk quant, but in her free time, Xindi enjoys baking and playing board games.

Zilong Cheng holds a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University where he double majored in Industrial Engineering and Economics, and was awarded the title of Outstanding Graduate. In addition, Zilong was a Meritorious winner at the Interdisciplinary Contests in Modeling, and earned top scholarships for three consecutive years. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, he worked as a research assistant at Tsinghua-FDT Quantitative Lab and China Securities, as well as a derivatives trading intern at China International Capital Corporation S&T. He is exploring careers in portfolio management and quantitative research. Xiangtian (Forest) Deng holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Peking University, where minored in Economics and was a Merit Student and awarded the Hailiang Scholarship for two consecutive years. He has previously worked at All-Weather Quantitative Technology as a quantitative researcher and trader, and as a manager assistant at Harvest Fund Management. Xiangtian is pursuing a career as a Quantitative Analyst at an investment bank or hedge fund. When he has free time, Xiangtian likes to swim and play the saxophone.

Jose Ferreira holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Systems and Computer Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes. Jose holds a second master’s degree from Nagoya Institute of Technology in Technology Business Administration, and has been published in the Proceedings of the World Congress on Engineering. Since then, Jose has been working mainly in Global Technology, most recently as a senior associate at Credit Agricole CIB. He is exploring career roles within algorithmic trading at an investment bank, but in his free time he enjoys soccer, basketball, and traveling.

Haocheng (Frank) Gu holds two bachelor’s degrees from Peking University in Physics and Economics. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, interned as a quantitative research assistant at Guotai Junan Asset Management Co., Ltd, where he built an “All Weather” strategy and applied a Monte Carlo method to optimize hedging. He hopes to build a career as a buy-side trader or strategy developer, and enjoys swimming and trading stocks in his free time.

Jiayun Hong graduated with honors from Peking University and holds bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Economics. She was a recipient of the Benz and Shenkeqi scholarships as well as an honorable winner at the 2017 US Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, she worked as a quantitative research intern at TechSharpe Quant Capital Management, and at Renaissance Era Investment Co. Mingkai Jia holds a bachelor’s degree from Peking University where he majored in Mathematics and minored in Economics. He not only won first prize in the China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling in 2016, but also second prize at the US Mathematical Contest in Modeling in 2017 and was the recipient of the Chenshouren scholarship. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, he interned as a financial engineer at Quantum Financial Service and as an industry researcher at China International Capital Corporation Limited. Mingkai is exploring quantitative research and analysis roles within investment banks, and in his free time enjoys competitive sports.

Mingxiang (Ethan) Jia earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Peking University, where he was the recipient of the Yizheng Alumni scholarship. Mingxiang was a First Prize Winner in the 2016 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, as well as Second Prize Winner in 2017 US Mathematical Contest in Modeling. He has interned as an industry researcher at Haitong Securities and as a financial engineer at Micai Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. He is interested in pursuing a career in either quantitative research or quantitative analysis. In his free time, Mingxiang enjoys the blues harmonica, competitive sports, and movies.

Yueting Jiang graduated with honors from the University of International Business and Economics with a bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering before earning two master’s degrees- one in Finance from Peking University and one in Economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In that time, she was awarded the National Scholarship and the title of “outstanding graduate.” Yueting has worked at Citigroup as a trading summer analyst, as well as at Deloitte as a China consulting analyst intern. Additionally, in 2017 she was published in the Journal of Futures Markets. In the future, Yueting hopes to have a career in quantitative research at an investment bank or hedge fund, and in her free time, she enjoys watching movies.

Zhaofeng (Brent) Liao holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Baruch College, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. He is a Certified Financial Risk Manager, passed the Level 3 CFA, and was the recipient of numerous awards during his undergraduate years. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, Zhaofeng worked for two years as an analyst at Jefferies, within OTC Collateral Management. He is exploring roles as a quant strategist at an investment bank and as a quant researcher at a hedge fund. He enjoys attending Broadway shows and is interested in music and radio production.

Yigao (Hugo) Liu obtained his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Baruch College, where he minored in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems, and graduated magna cum laude. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE program, Yigao worked as an asset-back lending analyst at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation for three years and interned at JP Morgan, Société Générale, and UBS. He is exploring roles in asset management and quantitative research. Chang Liu holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Peking University, where he minored in Economics. Chang was the recipient of a silver medal at the Chinese Math Olympiad. Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, Chang worked as a quant analyst in the equity investment department at Yaozhi Asset Management and interned in the Trading Business Department at Founder Securities. He is currently pursuing a career in quantitative modeling at an investment bank or as a quant strategist at a buy-side company. Biying (Sophia) Liu obtained her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley. In addition to being the recipient of the Boeing Engineering Scholarship and the Frank Schwabacher Scholarship, she has worked as a financial software engineer in the Trading and Analytics Department at Bloomberg LP. He was a research intern at CITIC Security Company Limited and the Alpha Square Fund before becoming a research associate at the City University of Hong Kong’s College of Business. Xi (Shimmy) Xu holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. In addition to winning Third Place in the 29th Chinese Physics Olympiad Contest, Xi has worked as regulatory analysis & execution desk strat in the Securities Division at Goldman Sachs. He is interested in pursuing a career in algorithmic or systematic trading. In his free time, Xi enjoys running and tinkering with electronics.

Zhuoheng Yang obtained his bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he was awarded the China National Scholarship. Computer Science Program. Since then, he has worked as a Software Engineer at Google and hopes to pursue a challenging and impactful career following his time at the Baruch MFE Program. Sean Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Citigroup and Federal Law Enforcement scholarships. He is a CFA Charterholder and has spent three years working as a Natural Gas and Nikkei 225 Index Volatility Trader and Portfolio Manager at Belvedere Trading. Chenyu (Philip) Zhao holds two bachelor’s degrees from Peking University, one in Physics and the other in Economics. He has previously worked at China International Capital Corporation and Truefund Investment Management CO. LTD developing Chinese equity market and machine learning strategies. Yuxin Zheng holds a doctorate degree from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University. He has co-authored four papers published in top-tier peer reviewed journals, such as Nano Letters. When he is not attending CLEO conferences, he worked as a quantitative associate at Morgan Stanley. He is interested in careers involving algorithmic trading, quantitative portfolio management and alpha research roles. In his free time, Yuxin enjoys skiing, playing basketball and ping pong, and singing karaoke.

Prior to joining the Baruch MFE Program, Ying worked as a Business Manager at China Construction Bank, and held internships at Citibank Co., Ltd and Coca-Cola Beverages Co., Ltd.
